This week’s challenge comes from the wonderful S. C. Mitchell – Describe your perfect writing retreat.

With my eyes closed, I can imagine a fabulous environment for allowing the muse to enter and let the words flow. First, it would be warm. Not like cocoon warm; more like springtime after a long winter warm. It would smell fresh and be filled with flowers with just enough scent to tease. It would be quiet, with no husband standing at the door, staring at me and thinking that wasn’t disturbing. There would be no teenage boy playing loud videos nearby.

My dog would be at my feet, instead of on the daybed near me snoring. And it would be filled with bright sunshine that lit the room but didn’t interfere with the screen.

Since we’re going there, it would have a time machine that I could enter at will and choose my destinations, with a closet full of the appropriate period wardrobe. And, there would be staff to see that I had tea or water or a bite of food, depending on my desires.

Oh, and a masseuse for the tired neck muscles, while additional staff did my laundry and cooking and grocery shopping.

Well, he asked…..
