1.Who us your favorite author other than yourself in your genre and why?

Hands down, I must say Kathleen Woodiwiss.  She was a genius at creating place and time and history.  Her heroines were believable and her heroes were men you could truly fall in love with.  She always made sure they were human, with real flaws, but they always persevered.  Her books inspired me to write romance novels.

2.What is your favorite book by them and why?

Of all of them, I think I like “Ashes in the Wind” the best.  It is set in one of my favorite time periods:  the Civil War.  I have read it so many times and it always gives me pleasure.  What more could you ask of a book?

3.What about their style inspires your writing?

She always did her homework.  Her research was meticulous and her writing style took me with her to the places and situations she created.  Her characters’ reactions were believable and she made me care about them and their fate.  (I speak in the past tense, since she passed away some years ago.  A great loss to the romance world!)

I wonder who LaNora’s favorite author is and why….

Let’s go see.  And don’t forget to comment if the spirit moves you.
