‘Do you like to read romance novels? Wouldn’t you like to know more about your favorite authors? Well you came to the right place! Join the writers of Romance Weekly as we go behind the scenes of our books and tell all….. About our writing of course! Every week we’ll answer questions and after you’ve enjoyed the blog on this site we’ll direct you to another. So come back often for a thrilling ride! Tell your friends and feel free to ask us questions in the comment box.

1. How much of yourself do you write into your characters? Or do you write characters completely opposite to you?

I don’t think any writer can help but put some of their own traits into their characters, both good and bad.  But the fun of creating these characters is they can experience things and then have any reaction I choose.  They are more balanced than I am and always say the right thing…even when they don’t.

2. Has your writing helped you see events in your own life clearer?

The situations in my novels aren’t even close to events in my own life.  But the experience of writing has opened me up to a passion I can’t experience any other way.  It has helped me discover a part of myself I never knew existed until I sat down at the keyboard.

3. Have you written a character with more of your personal characteristics than any other? What are they?

I think Kennedy in ‘Texas Summer’ has more of my personal characteristics.  She is bolder than I am, but she does try to see things from different angles and do the right thing.

Let’s see how Kate Robbins feels about her characters…..

I agree, we sometimes don’t even realize just how much of ourselves we do put into our characters, 🙂 Loved your blog!!!

  4. Grinning here. I love how you said your characters are more balanced than you. So true of me too. To bad I can’t make myself more balanced with a few keystrokes.
