‘Do you like to read romance novels? Wouldn’t you like to know more about your favorite authors? Well you came to the right place! Join the writers of Romance Weekly as we go behind the scenes of our books and tell all….. About our writing of course! Every week we’ll answer questions and after you’ve enjoyed the blog on this site we’ll direct you to another. So come back often for a thrilling ride! Tell your friends and feel free to ask us questions in the comment box.

1. When someone finds out you’re an author, how do you handle the statement, “I have a story you should write”?

Generally, I say, great, bring it on.  And that is, generally, the end of that.

2. Do you write what you read?

I read voraciously and, since there are no new ideas under the sun, I would have to say, sure.  I admire so many authors and I know they influence me and my style.  I try to emulate what they do and how they can elicit responses and move me, while maintaining my own voice.

3. People often mistake the lifestyle of a writer as glamorous, give us the scoop, what about your lifestyle would shock your readers?

I hate to admit it, but I do my own laundry, dusting, vacuuming, take out the trash, cook dinner and clean up afterward.  I get up every morning with the dawn and write until it’s time to honor some commitment in my life, including mucking horse stalls and cleaning cat litter.

Truth be told, though, that time spent at the keyboard is glamorous and exciting and dangerous and I get to do and experience anything my little heart desires.  I love being a writer!

I wonder how Nina Mason answered these same questions.  Let’s go see…..

And don’t forget to add your comments.

Writing itself feels rather exciting, doesn’t it? Now I just need the limo, a butler and a couple of really handsome bodyguards to go with it 😀

  2. Ronnie Allen says:

Hi Leslie, I’m a little less laden with chores. I’m good at delegating to hubby. Nice answers!, Best, Ronnie

  3. I’d take someone to just clean the cat litter.

  4. Carrie Elks says:

Great answers, Leslie. I’m going to concentrate on that glamorous side of my life today and ignore the housework, I think!
