  1. Do you have a recurring theme in your work, either intentional or unintentional? What is it and why do you think you chose that particular theme?

If there is any recurring theme, it is that women are strong and capable.  My heroines are not victims and my men are not all-knowing, flawless superior beings.  Though they all are yummy. As they should be. The two come together out of love, not need.  It comes from my belief that we, as women, are stronger than we know and braver than we believe.  Underneath the petticoats, there is steel, that we can summon when it’s needed.

2. Do you carefully plot your stories, or do you plot as you write? Why do you think this particular ethos works for you?

I run by the seat of my pants. I do start with a story idea and a beginning, middle and end, but the parts that connect them are not static.  Whenever I try to plot more precisely, the characters seem take over and laugh at me.  In the beginning, I try to create them as well-defined,at least in my head, with their own ideas, and so they seem to determine the details.  I merely jump on, strap in and hold on.

3. Is there a particular genre (within romance) you could never write? Why?

I could never write erotica that depicts my heroines and heroes intentionally physically or emotionally abusing each other or someone else.  And personally, I am uncomfortable with BDSM.  Nor could I write about hurting children or animals.  The thought of those things just gives me the creeps.

I wonder what insights Nina Mason has to offer.  Let’s go see…

  2. I can’t write Erotica at all. I just can’t. It makes me laugh just to think about it!
