This week's challenge is from the amazingly prolific Betty Bolte:

It's St. Patrick's Day! Tell us if and how you celebrate it, or how you'd like to.

St. Patrick's Day has always seemed special to me. Maybe because I love the Emerald Isle. There is no greener green than the rolling hills there and magic seems to be in every corner…or perhaps it's the leprechauns. Every year I wear something green and open myself to the mysteries of ancient times.

No, St. Patrick didn't really rid Ireland of snakes…there weren't any there…and so much of his story is myth. But, there is no denying the fascination with this religious man who defined the trinity with a simple shamrock.

So, how could I celebrate more? Well, if I could, I'd spend the day in Ireland, walking through meadows and absorbing the beauty. Perhaps I’d find rest at Blarney Castle and stroll through the gardens. Or kiss the Blarney Stone. Oh, wait…do I really need to talk more? If nothing else, I would listen to the lilting accents and dream Irish dreams.

So, until we cross paths on St. Paddy's day in the Emerald Isle:

May the road rise up to meet you May the wind always be at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Until then, if you want to read about the time of Henry VIII, try this:

Let see how the talented Elizabeth Janette would spend the day.
